GoldenPalace.com Continues To Make Headlines With Extraordinary Marketing Philosophy

View the eBay Auction.

GoldenPalace.com, the advertising trendsetters famous for buying the Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Britney Spears' Pregnancy Test, and Pope Benedict XVI's previously-owned VW Golf have outdone themselves with their latest campaign.

Picture this - you're driving down the Interstate. It's a warm summer day and you're glancing at the passing scenery. There's nothing to see except endless farmland until you see a sight that makes you think you've entered the twilight zone: 100 cows grazing in a field, with a website address painted on their bodies and several even painted completely purple!

This isn't a scene from a Hunter S. Thompson novel. It's real. And if you drive through Sarasota, Florida on I-75 during the next few weeks, you'll see this unbelievable sight with your own eyes. Rain or shine, this one-of-a-kind ad campaign will be a visible symbol for GoldenPalace.com, one that is sure to continue revolutionizing conventional marketing as we know it.

The campaign is a literal interpretation of Seth Godin's purple cow marketing metaphor. Godin states that a "purple cow" is the only way to break through the advertising clutter and get your brand noticed.

PETA is onboard with the campaign as some of the cows will carry the message "Go Veg." The paint is non-toxic and safe for the animals. The cows will be on display for several weeks so come and check out the herd of GoldenPalace.com cows!

I know these cows. They are good cows from a good family. If they endorse Golden Palace, it must be good.

Too funny! The Iditarod should try this.

This is so cute. It made me go to the web site and see what they are about. As long as the cows are fine with it I don't have a problem with it.

I'm with Annette - after seeing the AOL news story I had to visit the site to see what it was about. Very clever. The website will probably get loads of hits.

I think it's cruel. Who's going to see it from the road or highway? What's the point in it?

It's really the first time the cows have had a steak in the gambling business.

They justify this animal exploitation by saying some of the cows carry the message "Go Veg." I wonder... How many of the 100 cows carry the Go Veg message and how many carry their website ad?

I am quite confident that the cows will feel more fully realized when they can accomplish some advertizing while just enjoying their grazing.
On August 18th, 2005 at 1:54 PM CowLuvvah said:

um, they're cows, folks. The paint is "non-toxic and safe for the animals", and from the look of the video, they weren't mistreated at all... I'm sure that by now they've totally forgotten the paint... the only lasting impact for them is the occasional camera flash while they're eating yet more grass. The "GO VEG" thing on a their sides is just plain funny. I'm sure these cows don't go home at night and cry into their little cow pillows because they feel exploited! LOL

Anyone who thinks this is cruel is an idiot. This does not harm the cows. As far as who will see them. Thousands of cars pass by them daily. You can see them from the road.

if cows are more valuable as billboards than hamburger gruel, im for it. if it is one more way to exploit them before their untimely abaitment then it sounds like tatoo lampshades from the holocaust.

PETA supports it? You need to rethink it.

I know this is safe. I have GoldenPalace and PETA to vouch for it. Go Cows.

HOW is painting cows is cruel? Seriously? Get a life or do something constructive like giving your dog a bath. I'm sure they don't feel exploited when your lathering them up in a foreign substance.

God some people are just plain dumb. It doesn't hurt the cows. Did you hear ANY of them mooing whilst being painted? NO! So get over youself. I think its a great idea.. makes me wanna drive up to sarasota to see em. (I live in ft. myers/naples area)

That's fine as long as you don't start branding the people's foreheads like that....ooops! sorry but you just did it ! with ms. Kari Smith of Utah, right? She's got your name tattooed on the forehead for 10 000 dollars. A permanent one. How beautiful! Unbelievable, we are already in the most orrible future in the name of money, even science fiction couldn't predict this...

I think they should auction off the cows that had "Go Veg" painted on them. A cow that was used as a PETA billboard for some reason would make the most flavorful steak I've ever eaten. Nothing like feasting on irony....

Yeah, Peta sucks. How dare they make us feel bad for supporting animal cruelty?

I was asked to do this after I sold the right to name the calves, only problem was that I don't live anywhere near a highway and PETA never would've been involved. Anway, the calves are becoming young adults and are doing well.
