Richard Rowe - CEO Golden PalaceOnline Casino makes the first trade with set of poker chips

Newton, Mass -- GoldenPalace.com, the internet casino famous for their unusual and often outrageous advertising campaigns, has done it again by trading a set of 500 unique poker chips for a 60 cent check.

Reporter Aaron Todd won the money in a free tournament on a new Internet poker site while doing research to write about it. He planned to play real money games with his 60 cents until he either made $100 or lost it all, but the site no longer allows U.S. customers to play for real money after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed in late September, so he asked them to send a check.

He wrote a column for Casino City Times asking his readers to give him ideas on how to use the 60-cent check, and one reader told him he should try to trade it for something better.

He liked the idea so much that he decided he would make a series of trades until someone offered him the $10,000 buy-in for the Main Event of the WSOP.

He received over a dozen trade offers when he posted the story. The best offer came from Internet casino GoldenPalace.com, which offered a set of 500 custom poker chips for the check. The chips pay homage to some of GoldenPalace.com's innovative marketing concepts, including eBay purchases of a grilled cheese sandwich with the image of the Virgin Mary and William Shatner's kidney stone.

The transaction is the first step in Todd's goal to turn his 60-cent check into the buy-in for the Main Event of the 2007 World Series of Poker, chronicled on the Web site www.sixtycentmainevent.com

?On the surface, this might not seem like a good trade for us,? said GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard Rowe, ?but we thought this was a great opportunity to get in as the first trader and help Aaron achieve his goal.?

Setting the standard in marketing creativity, GoldenPalace.com has devised some of the most exciting and outrageous advertising campaigns in the past few years. Items such as the Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Britney Spears? Pregnancy Test, and William Shatner?s Kidney Stone have garnered extensive worldwide media attention for the casino. GoldenPalace.com has also used their items and marketing reach to raise awareness and over $1,000,000 for various charities worldwide.
