hello, i am selling what i believe to be a mind reading
machine built by Dr. J. S. Strauss in the year 2282. After
finding the time machine and the shrinking machine in my house
i started to think what other stuff might be hidden away in my
home. So i started searching from top to bottom and thats when
i found the mind reading machine. It was hidden in a very
tight corner of my attic and was wrapped in a old bed sheet,
covered with dirt. With a wet paper towel it cleaned up very
nice (see pictures).
The machine is made out of copper, metal. and plastic. Now,
I wouldn t think that plastic would still be around in the
year 2282, but i guess it still is. The mind reading machine
does not work from what i could tell but some one who knows
electronics might be able to figure it out. I had my friend
wear the head peice and i pushed on some buttons, but we just
could not get it to work. We only know how to work on cars,
this electronic stuff from the future is hard for us to
understand, so thats why i am selling the mind reading
machine....its why im selling off all of these inventions that
i have found.
This mind reading machine only weighs about 6 pounds and is
24" wide by 12" high. the control box has a 5' 6" cord that
connects to the back side of the head peice. The head peice
has a nice fit to it....kind of like a hard hat. now there is
alot of rust on the control box but everything else
looks ok.
There were also alot of little items that i found around
the mind machine like pictures, postcards, newspapers,
ect....one of the more interesting items were two little paper
print-outs with peoples thoughts on them (see pictures). I
dont understand all of the information on the print-outs but
you can make out most of it. From what me and my friends put
together is that the mind machine printed out the thoughts of
the person who had the mind cap on....but thats about all we
figured out.
Like i said, i have went through the whole house, from top
to bottom and could not find any more inventions by J.S.
Strauss. So this looks like this will be the last invention
that i will find. So if you want an invention by the greatest
inventor of all time, then i guess you should bid on this
one.
a list of things you will get:
1. the mind reading machine
2. two paper print outs of peoples thoughts
3. a postcard of four guys in a old car dated 1909 chicago,
with unknown writting on back.
4. picture of a young lady in a waterfall
5. picture of a old man in phoenix 1975 might be js

6. picture of a lady and two guys getting drunk next to a
car
7. picture of a young boy with name raymond
8. a german cook book from 1954
9. a small leaf shape suitcase key
10. old broken eyes glasses that are 10k gold might be

a tracking number. Paypal only......insurance is 1 dollar per
100.....Please email me your questions.
why i had to relist this
auction
I had to relist this auction a
second time. ebay kicked it off because my main title
description had "...like time machine". i was using
"search manipulation" which means anybody who was searching
for time machines on ebay would have found my mind machine
mixed into their search.
i understand and agree with
this policy of theirs, but they should have emailed me a
warning to change my discription and not just kick
me off with out any emails or contacting me at all. what do
you guys think? was that right of them? considering how big
the auction was and how small of a seller i
am.

an interesting look at mind machines
of today
In a laboratory outside San Diego, a rhesus
monkey sits and peers through a periscopelike arrangement of
mirrors into a computer-generated virtual reality. If monkeys
have a sense of wonder, this one must have been in awe at
first seeing an elliptical tube float before its eyes. But now
the animal has mastered this game. The monkey reaches for the
object. When it does, infrared diodes strapped on its arm
convey its movement to the computer, which then moves a
spherical cursor in the virtual world. As one segment of the
tube lights up and spins around the ellipse, the rhesus must
follow it, tracing ovals in the air. After months of
practicing four hours a day, five days a week, the monkey has
this down. Every time it completes five orbits, the
creature wins a drink of water.
As the rhesus plays, Andrew B. Schwartz, a
senior fellow at the Neuro-Sciences Institute, sits in front
of a floor to- ceiling rack of equipment recording the
animal's thoughts--or rather electrical traces of them. His
instruments are connected by a wire far thinner than a human
hair to a single brain cell lying just below the surface of
the animal's primary motor cortex. No electricity goes into
the subject's skull. But the moment the monkey decides to move
its arm, this neuron starts firing, sending pulses out to the
computer, which registers how rapidly they arrive. From the
pattern of signals produced by fewer than 100 brain cells
sampled as the rhesus repeats its task, Schwartz has all the
data he needs to predict where the monkey's arm is going a
good tenth of a second before the animal moves a muscle.

another interesting look at mind

When Deborah Luik developed painful bilateral
tendinitis in her wrists and hands in 1998, her career as a
computer programmer with business-to-business company RedSpark
was in jeopardy. Although Luik could enter lines of computer
code vocally using speech-to-text software from Dragon
System's NaturallySpeaking, the program proved too slow and
unwieldy for effective mouse-clicking and desktop navigation.
Besides, the need to speak constantly to get her code entered
while maneuvering between programs on the desktop strained her
voice.
These days, Luik is less tired and more
productive, thanks to an innovative product called Cyberlink
Interface. To use the technology, Luik dons a cloth headband
equipped with three sensors that connect to the PC. The
headband can literally read Luik's mind, as well as small
movements of her facial and eye muscles. When Luik thinks
about moving the cursor to the left, it moves to the left.
When she wants to open a program, she can mentally move her
cursor to a file and click on it.
"I can do just about
anything with Cyberlink that I can do with a computer with my
hands," she says. "The program supports hands-free mouse,
keyboard, and joy-stick control, left and right button clicks,
and switch closures."

Monkey's brain signals control
'third arm'
Monkeys can control a robot arm as naturally
as their own limbs using only brain signals, a pioneering
experiment has shown. The macaque monkeys could reach and
grasp with the same precision as their own hand.
"It's just as if they have a representation of
a third arm," says project leader Miguel Nicolelis, at Duke
University in Durham, North Carolina. Experts believe the
experiment's success bodes well for future devices for humans
that are controlled solely by thought.
One such type of device is a
neurally-controlled prosthetic - a brain-controlled false
limb. Nicolelis says his team's work is important because it
has shown that prosthetics can only deliver precision
movements if multiple parts of the brain are monitored and
visual feedback is provided.
Gerald Loeb, a biomedical engineer at the
University of Southern California in Los Angeles, says the new
experiment already has some parallels in everyday life. For
example, he says, when you drive a car it becomes an extension
of your body.
But Nicolelis says the monkeys appeared to be
treating the robot arm as their limb, not an extension. "The
properties of the robot were being assimilated as if they were
a property of the animal's own body."
