Alain Robert, the French daredevil famous for scaling some of the world's tallest buildings without ropes or a net, made it to the top of a Mexico City skyscraper on Thursday, December 7, 2006, finishing the year off with a bang and a huge Golden Palace Online Casino tribute.

Robert, 44, who has climbed 70 structures including the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building and San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, made it to the top of the 23-floor glass and steel office building known as "World Plaza" in just 30 minutes while proudly displaying a large GoldenPalace.com logo on his back.

Early on in his career, Robert discovered that the police often disagree with his approach to fame, so he tries to dodge the authorities before a climb by arriving unannounced at his target and racing up before he can be stopped. Although, successful on this climbing mission, he wasn't so successful at dodging the authorities: he was arrested immediately after the climb.

Though the police succeed where many a super villain failed, his incarceration won't be permanent. Robert's lawyer said he should get
off with a fine.
