GoldenPalace.com Buys Richard Pryor Bowl; Money Goes to Charity

MONDAY, MARCH 20, 2006, SOUTH RUSSELL, OHIO ? Buying a ceramic bowl for $7,099 sounds crazy, unless you?re GoldenPalace.com, the online casino that has spent the last few years making a name for themselves by buying eccentric and unusual items on eBay.

The Antigua-based online casino spent $7,099.99 to win a ceramic bowl decorated by beloved late comedian Richard Pryor. The entire amount will go to the Geauga Humane Society, a privately funded, nonprofit organization that helps sick, injured, abused, abandoned and surrendered animals.

Pryor donated the bowl to the Humane Society weeks before he died on December 10 at age 65. He painted a self-portrait inside the bowl and wrote "Little Black Man in Big White World". Although the society offered to give the bowl back to Pryor?s widow Jennifer, she wanted the society to keep it and use it to generate as much money as possible for their cause.

GoldenPalace.com has a collection of one-of-a-kind items that they will be taking on tour around the country as part of a traveling museum.

?Congratulations to GoldenPalace.com for winning the auction,? said the seller after the casino won the auction. ?We're delighted that Richard's bowl has gone to someone who will be sharing it with many.?

?We are always ecstatic to be able to help a wonderful cause with our eBay purchases,? said GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard Rowe. ?These types of auction bring us media attention as well as raise money for a needy cause. It?s really a win-win situation for all involved. We wish the Geauga Humane Society all the best in their noble efforts.?

Setting the standard in marketing creativity, GoldenPalace.com has devised some of the most exciting and outrageous advertising campaigns in the past few years. Items such as the Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Britney Spears? Pregnancy Test, and William Shatner?s Kidney Stone have garnered extensive worldwide media attention for the casino. GoldenPalace.com has also used their items and marketing reach to raise awareness and over $1,000,000 for various charities worldwide.

Geauga Humane Society, a privately funded, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been turning sad beginnings into happy endings for sick, injured, abused, abandoned and surrendered animals since 1974. Rescue Village is Geauga Humane Society's unlimited stay animal shelter, adoption center and center for humane education and is located about 25 miles east of Cleveland , Ohio .
